Never a Hero - Marie Sexton

This was almost a 5-star read for me - it tackles difficult subjects and does it really well, I think. I was in tears for half the book, and smiling stupidly for the other half, and I loved how everything was solved in the end. The only problem is that the MC's mother felt like caricature bad guy - it was very hard to believe that someone would act like that all the time

, and the easy way the MC suddenly managed to stand up to her after all the history wasn't realistic

(show spoiler)

. Still, overall it was a great book and reminded me why I loved Marie Sexton's other books.
